Asking How Something is Going on in Mandarin

怎么样(Zěnmeyàng)
We already learned about 怎么样(zěnmeyàng). Let's have a little review about it. It is used to make a suggestion to other people by placing it at the end of a sentence. For examples:
我们去喝茶，怎么样？
Wǒmen qù hē chá, zěnmeyàng?
我们一起骑自行车, 怎么样？
Wǒmen yīqǐ qí zìxíngchē, zěnmeyàng?
Now we'll learn about some other usage of 怎么样(zěnmeyàng). It is used to know about someone's news and to ask someone's whether something is successful or enjoyable. Let's take a look at the following examples:
X: 你的孩子怎么样?
X: Nǐ de háizi zěnmeyàng?
Y: 他们都很好。
Y: Tāmen dōu hěn hǎo.
X: 雅加达怎么样?
X: Yǎjiādá zěnmeyàng?
Y: 雅加达很飘零。我喜欢雅加达。
Yǎjiādá hěn piāolíng. Wǒ xǐhuān Yǎjiādá.
你的日语课怎么样?
Nǐ de Rìyǔ kè zěnmeyàng?
很好。
Hěn hǎo.

Another Way to Make Yes/No Question
We previously learned that to make Yes/No question, we use a particle question 吗 (ma) at the end of a sentence. For example:
他的日语好吗？
Tā de Rìyǔ hǎo ma?
The new way to make the Yes/No question is as follow:
他的日语好不好？
Tā de Rìyǔ hǎo bù hǎo?
Let's have a look some more examples:
Question:你今天忙吗？
Nǐ jīntiān máng ma?
Question:你今天忙不忙？
Nǐ jīntiān máng bù máng?
Answer: 太忙 (Tài máng) (too/extremely busy)
Answer: 非常忙 (Fēicháng máng) (very very busy)
Answer: 很忙 (Hěn máng) (very busy)
Answer: 有点儿忙 (yǒudiǎnr máng) (a little bit busy)
Answer: 不太忙 (Bù tài máng) (not too busy)
Answer: 不忙 (bù máng) (not busy)
日语课难吗？
Rìyǔ kè nán ma?
日语课难不难？
Rìyǔ kè nàn bù nán?
我的回答对吗？
Wǒ de huídá duì ma?
我的回答对不对？
Wǒ de huídá duì bù duì?
